To assist leaders in becoming more effective Dr. Heemsbergen has developed a
set of powerful tools and processes. He calls it the (H-SAT), the Heemsbergen
Sensory Awareness Tools. The (H-SAT) is a new and distinctive research
methodology that helps probe more deeply into thoughts and emotions attached to
experiences. It helps leaders discover those things that they don’t even know,
they don’t know. The purpose is to illuminate the blindspots of leaders and
leverage their hidden talents.
The H-SAT uses unconventional techniques to make leadership a continual work of
accessing hidden talents. The method Heemsbergen uses combines cognitive
psychology, neuropsychology, and art practices to try to uncover the mental
models that guide leadership behavior - to illuminate the shadows of the leader
brain. The H-SAT may be the new economy's link to future leadership
effectiveness.
"A lot goes on in our minds that we're not aware of," says Heemsbergen. "Most
of what influences what leaders say and do occurs below the level of awareness.
That's why we need new techniques: to get at hidden knowledge - to get at what
leaders don't know they know."
